Mission BARC is a student-led organization founded by nursing students with a shared interest in understanding the impact of human-animal interactions - particularly with dogs - on stress reduction and overall well-being. The group was formed to conduct research on how engaging with animals can serve as a therapeutic intervention, especially within healthcare settings. Through evidence-based research, hands-on learning, and community engagement, BARC empowers nursing students to explore and promote the integration of pet therapy into holistic nursing care. By advancing knowledge in this emerging field, the organization contributes to a greater understanding of the role of animal-assisted interventions in improving well-being.
