Mission
The Multicultural Student Organization (MSO) at Salve Regina University focuses on the celebration of diversity and different cultures on campus. We are a progressive group of students that collaborates with others to provide educational opportunities on matters of diversity, equity, and inclusion. We strive to raise awareness about the cultural issues and experiences within the Salve Regina community. Our main goal is to provide a safe space and a second home to students who want to advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion on campus. We are also a place for students to ask questions and educate themselves without judgement. The organization hosts at least two events per semester in honor of all cultures in order to further educate students, staff and faculty. Our general meetings consist of discussions and activities about diversity, equity, and inclusion, as well as simply being a space to come together to recognize and celebrate each other. We seek to demonstrate how people from diverse backgrounds, values, and beliefs can work together to create a safer and inclusive environment for the student body; ultimately fostering the growth of the Salve Regina University community. As Salve Regina University's mission statement states, the Multicultural Student Organization aspires to encourage students to work for a world that is harmonious, just and merciful both locally and overseas.
