Salve Regina University Department of Athletics provides training and support to student athletes in accordance with our Mercy Mission, which aims to grow the whole person for them to succeed both on and off the field.

Our core belief is that a strong intercollegiate athletics program at our university gives our students a competitive advantage, both in sports and in the real world. In our program, students are expected to achieve academic and athletic distinction, as well as demonstrate good sportsmanship and fair play in the classroom and on the field. In addition, we stress the need for civic involvement. It is our goal that every student-athlete competes to the best of his or her ability.

The Center for Global Education and Fellowships aims to ensure that all Salve Regina students experience the transformative power of global education and exchange. Study Abroad
With more than 200 program choices in over 40 countries, Salve Regina offers excellent study abroad opportunities for undergraduate students in every major. We provide support throughout the entire study abroad process, from pre-departure through re-entry to the United States.

International Student Support
We support international students prior to their arrival on campus, throughout their Salve Regina career and beyond. We offer services and resources related to immigration regulations, academic and cultural adjustment, advising, accessing employment/practical training and more.

Fellowship Advising
Nationally competitive fellowships fund a variety of experiential opportunities in the United States and abroad, including research, graduate study, overseas teaching and service. We advise Salve Regina students and alumni who are pursuing fellowships, helping them to research opportunities and providing support throughout the application process.

Our courses are taught by experienced, approachable faculty who have lived and studied around the world. We strongly encourage participation in study abroad programs, support internships abroad wherever possible and promote volunteer outreach in the Newport community, where our students tutor English as a second language and teach French and Spanish to elementary school students in after-school programs.

We also offer occasional coursework in American Sign Language, Arabic, Chinese, German, Korean, Latin and Portuguese.

Health Services is open to all full-time undergraduate students. There is no additional cost to be seen at Health Services, as this is included in your student service fee. Services are provided by a team of nurse practitioners and support staff. Fifth-year graduate students who wish to utilize Health Services should call the Business Office at (401) 341-2900 for more information.

The Office of Public Safety provides services to the campus community 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. We consider the safety, security and well-being of Salve Regina's students, faculty, staff and visitors our highest priority.

Our officers work to prevent crime, provide high-visibility security patrols, and respond quickly and effectively to University needs on campus. All officers are first aid and CPR/defibrillator certified, and many are also certified as emergency medical technicians.

We also oversee parking permits, shuttle services, lost and found, on-campus medical transports and emergency calls for service.

Salve RecSports offers a variety of ways for our students to stay active and engaged. Our club sports program provides opportunities for students to practice and compete as a team. Some sports are coached and engage in conference play and others are player-coach led with scrimmage style play.  Intramurals offer league or tournament competition in a number of sports all within an inclusive atmosphere. If competition isn’t your thing, there are a number of recreation-based student organizations you can join. We also host fitness classes and excursions throughout the year.  RecSports is also home to the Salve Bike Program which provides bikes, helmets and locks free of charge to students for a day or if you prefer, a semester.  We are here to support you to “Be Active. Be Healthy. Belong.

Offered in partnership with Rogers High School in Newport, the Pathways program at Salve Regina University is designed to shepherd first-generation students and their families to high school graduation and college enrollment.

Each fall, Salve Regina welcomes a cohort of 15 sophomores from Rogers High School to participate in the three-year program as Horizon Scholars. Students are supported academically and socially to achieve their post-graduation goals, with programming ranging from peer mentoring to college test-preparation courses to financial literacy workshops.

The program offers after-school and out-of-school activities during the school year and includes a summer component held on Salve Regina's campus. The program also provides crucial resources and education on the college discovery, application and enrollment processes so that students and families become familiar with these often-daunting tasks.

Ofrecido en asociación con Rogers High School en Newport, el programa Pathways está diseñado para guiar a los estudiantes de primera generación y sus familias a graduarse de la escuela secundaria e inscribirse en la universidad.

Cada otoño, Salve Regina da la bienvenida a un grupo de 15 estudiantes de segundo año de Rogers High School para participar en el programa de tres años como Becarios Horizon. Los estudiantes reciben apoyo académico y social para lograr sus metas posteriores a la graduación, con programas que van desde la tutoría entre compañeros hasta cursos de preparación para exámenes universitarios y talleres de educación financiera.
