Health Education and Prevention will be hosting a mile walk on Wednesday, April 30th at 12:00 for Denim Day. The campus walk will begin at the lawn at Gerety Hall at 12:00. Maps will be available on the day of the walk. Please wear jeans or other items made of denim as a symbol to protest Sexual Assault. Denim Day started in 1999 as a protest against the Italian Supreme Court's decision to overturn a sexual assault conviction due to the victim wearing jeans. Please attend our culminating event for Sexual Assault Awareness Month. Event will occur rain or shine. Campus and community partners will also be attending such as Newport Police Department, RI State Police, RI Coalition Against Domestic Violence, Day One, Ten Men, Title IX, Health Education and Prevention, Salve Public Safety and more!
