About Us

Our mission is providing LGBTQIA2S+ students with the support and resources they need to complete their education without undue hardship. The LGBTQ+ Center provides: a safe space for students to relax between classes, a space to connect with peers, and a center for resources and information so that students can make informed decisions with a focus on harm-reduction; an advocate for policy changes across the university with a focus on equity and intersectionality; and trainings, information sessions, and resources for faculty and staff so that they are able to work with LGBTQ+ students and treat them with respect and dignity.

Our Values

  • Support LGBTQIA2S+ students holistically and with an intersectional lens.
  • Promote social justice for every member of the Salve Regina community, regardless of gender identity, gender expression, body, ability, sexuality, nationality, race, spirituality and ethnicity.
  • Encourage thoughtful dialogue that allows people to ask questions and learn without fear of being judged.
  • Create a sense of belonging for LGTBQIA2S+ students, faculty and staff.
  • Contribute to a campus climate where people can feel safe, welcomed and celebrated for who they are, no matter their identities.
  • Have fun.
